How to say this nicely ???!!!?

I've been texting this guy i like for about 5 to 6 months and I've known him since grade 4 but i moved in grade 8 and im in grade 11 now and now hes a total druggie and he drinks etc. i want to stop texting him but i don't want to just ignore him or just stop texting him, any help ?
